Intermission Background Concept

An idea I have for the background of another one of my pieces currently in progress called "Intermission." If the TV's make it too busy I'm thinking of just having the eyes in a pattern as the background. Although, I'm having trouble porting the images into Photoshop (CS5.1) first, I tried copy & pasting the selected object into photoshop but every time I do, it creates a new layer. So, if I want to have a crap tone of those eyes in the background it really slows things down! Anyone have any tips?
